The Char Dham Yatra is one of Hinduism's most demanding and most rewarded pilgrimage circuits, linking four Himalayan shrines — Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath — at the source of India's holiest rivers. Saaga Tours handles the logistics that make this route difficult to organise independently: mountain transfers, trek and pony arrangements, and accommodation booked well ahead in peak season.
Drive into the mountains and trek (or take a pony) to the Yamunotri shrine at the source of the Yamuna.
Drive on to Gangotri, source shrine of the Ganges, set among pine and deodar forest.
Drive to Sonprayag/Gaurikund and trek (or fly by helicopter) up to Kedarnath temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines to Shiva.

Reasonable fitness is recommended given the altitude and trekking sections; ponies and palanquins are available at each shrine for those who need them.
