Overview

This circuit through Uttarakhand's foothills suits families and first-time visitors to India who want mountain scenery without the altitude of Ladakh or Kashmir. It pairs two colonial-era hill stations — lake-side Nainital and the "Queen of the Hills," Mussoorie — with a wildlife safari through Jim Corbett, India's oldest national park and a reliable spot for tiger sightings.

Trip Highlights

  • Boating on the emerald, pear-shaped Nainital Lake
  • Mall Road and cable-car views over Mussoorie
  • Jeep safari through Jim Corbett National Park
  • Reasonable altitudes suitable for children and older travellers
  • Colonial-era architecture across all three hill stations

How far apart are the three towns?
